VE Day 80th Anniversary

Events take place at the beacon, located at Mitchel Gardens.
Expect live music from John Gudge and Bethany Brown with the beacon being lit at approximately 8:15pm and the International Tribute and Town Criers Proclamation being read.
There will be a selection of exhibits from the Royal British Legion, Chard Museum, Chard Girl Guides, Chard Army Cadets, Chard Hospital League of Friends, Chard Helmstedt Society and others.

Events take place at Chard Guildhall, Fore Street
Chard Fair will host a range of community groups, exhibitors, displays, traders, food and drink, whilst you can also enjoy live performances from the following local acts:
Chard Town Council will be collaborating with other organisations in recognising VE Day through these 2 events.
We are currently on the look out for exhibitors that may be appropriate for the fair that will take place on Sunday 11th May at the Guildhall. This could range from face painting, crafting activities, traditional games like a coconut shy, penalty shoot out, hook a duck etc, as well as anyone wishing to exhibit anything of relevance to World War II.
If you are a food vendor we’d also like to hear from you. Space on Fore Street can be allocated for mobile units.
