On behalf of Chard Town Council Councillors and staff I’d like extend to you a very warm welcome. This site contains important information relating to the running of the town such as the council finances, agendas & minutes for meetings and information on services that we offer.

Chard Town Council was established in 1974 following the changes in local government, it is comprised of fifteen councillors representing the town’s five wards: Avishayes, Combe, Crimchard, Holyrood and Jocelyn. It has three standing committees as well as a number of working groups. Chard Town Councillors are supported by officers based at the Guildhall, Chard.

 

Join us! Annual Town’s Meeting

All Parish and Town Councils throughout England are required by law to hold an Annual Parish Meeting. The Annual Parish Meeting is a meeting of all the local government electors for the Parish. It is not a Meeting of the Parish Council.

In previous years an annual report has been produced. In 2024 the Mayor gave an oral report. This years meeting takes place:
