Somerset Council have advised us of some upcoming works in the Chard area that have the potential to cause some disruption as follows:

“From 4 March to 13 March our contractor Heidelberg will undertake resurfacing of Crowshute Link, Duck Lane and parts of Holyrood Street, as shown on the map below.

Our Area Highways Teams are receiving regular reports of defects on this stretch of carriageway. While we will issue wider comms closer to the time, I wanted to let you know that this is in our programme.

The works are planned to take place under an evening only road closure, with the highway clear during the day and at weekends. Access to businesses such as Sainsbury’s will be maintained at all times. Residents will have pedestrian access to their properties throughout, while there may be some temporary restrictions on vehicular access.

Please be aware that the dates may change. Our resurfacing programme has already encountered delays this year due to the weather. Should there be any substantial changes we will let you know.

Moving forward you can find out more information on current and planned future works both locally and nationwide on one.network. This is a free online service but you may need to register to view further than two weeks in advance.”
