Somerset Council has provided an update on the remaining resurfacing works on the A358 Old Town and Crowshute Link in Chard.
At present, no firm dates have been confirmed, but the works are expected to take place later in the year, likely in Quarter 3. Most of the necessary administration is already complete, which means the works could be brought forward at short notice if space becomes available in the programme.
If this happens, Somerset Council has advised that they will aim to give at least two weeks’ notice. In the event of shorter notice, support from local stakeholders may be requested to help communicate the works and minimise disruption.
The remaining section could not previously be resurfaced due to a water leak, which has since been resolved. Somerset Council has confirmed they will provide a further update as soon as dates are finalised.
