Somerset County Council Victoria Avenue, Chard in the Parish of Chard Town (Temporary Traffic Restrictions) Order 2022

Somerset County Council in exercise of its powers under Section 14 (1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended, intends to make an Order, the effect of which will be to introduce the following temporary traffic restrictions as detailed in the Schedules below.

This Order will come into operation on the 25th day of August 2022 and will remain in force for eighteen months.

The Works are expected to commence on the 30th day of August 2022 until the 2nd day of September 2022 between 08:00 hours and 17:00 hours, to allow Wessex Water access to install a new connection, the restrictions will only apply when indicated by traffic signs.

Schedule 1 Temporary Prohibition of Vehicles (Southbound Only)

Victoria Avenue, Chard. From outside number 12 Victoria Avenue in a southerly direction to the Victoria Avenue roundabout.

Schedule 2 Temporary One Way (Northbound Only)

Victoria Avenue, Chard From the Victoria Avenue roundabout in a northerly direction for a distance of 70 meters.

Statement of reasons for making the Order a) because works are being or are proposed to be executed on or near the road b) because of the likelihood of danger to the public, or of serious damage to the road, which is not attributable to such works
